Revelio - Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 11, 2026

Revelio is a tool that tells you whether a Groupon deal is actually a good buy. It is available as a website and as a Chrome extension. This policy explains what data Revelio handles and why. Revelio is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Groupon.

What we collect, and only when you ask

The extension does nothing until you open a Groupon deal page (groupon.com/deals/…) and click “Reveal this deal.” When you click Reveal, it sends to our analysis server:

That’s it. We do not collect your name, email, Groupon account, payment details, browsing history, or activity on other sites. The extension runs only on Groupon deal pages and only acts on your click.

Why we use it

The data is used solely to analyze the specific deal you asked about and return a verdict (real discount, comparison with similar same-city deals, and cross-platform ratings). To produce that analysis, derived details about the deal - such as the merchant name, deal title and prices - may be processed by the third-party services we rely on: Anthropic (Claude), the Google Places API, the Yelp Fusion API, and Tavily. We do not send your identity to these services.

Storage and retention

To make repeat lookups fast, the analysis result for a deal is cached on our server, keyed by the deal’s URL, for up to 24 hours. We do not build user profiles, and we do not link analyses to any individual.

What we don’t do

Changes

We may update this policy; the “Last updated” date above will change accordingly. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
